"Enjoy the Ride"
Short Stop Motion Film
This is a short film project I made during my stop motion class at SCAD. I was director, fabricator and writer and worked with three other artists.
The film story follows to curious angsty teens, Ziv and Jade, who break into Big Bayou Adventure, an abandoned theme park. As they investigate the theme parks run down rides, one in particular called "The Wrath of Rougarou" comes to life while they are messing around in the coaster car.
The inspiration for the setting come from an abandoned six flags in my hometown of New Orleans that has been sitting vacant since Hurricane Katrina. The plot is inspired from watching homemade videos of urban explorers break into the eerie park and explore. The muse for the rollercoaster was inspired by a local legendary "Rougarou," a wolf-headed shapeshifting monster from Cajun and Creole folklore that is said to haunt the swamps and bayous Louisiana.
